• How Injuries Actually Happen
  Understand how the spine and soft tissues get injured under load, and what simple changes to setup, pacing, and body position reduce risk without working harder.
• Principles of Safe Movement
  Apply the core movement principles that make every transfer safer: base of support, levers, pacing, using the environment, and preparing before you move.
• Reading & Following a Mobility Plan
  Know what a mobility and manual handling plan is telling you, what to do, what not to do, the supervision level required, and the key risks for that specific person.
• Equipment: Hoists, Slide Sheets & Aids
  Use common manual handling aids safely within your scope slide sheets, transfer belts, standing aids, walkers, and hoists and know when to stop and escalate.
• Transfer Readiness The Pre-Check
  Run a consistent check before every transfer: environment, equipment condition, consent from the person, communication between staff, and your own fatigue level.
• Documenting Changes & Escalating Risk
  Write clearer progress notes when mobility changes what you observed, what happened, and what you escalated so the right people know and the plan gets updated.
